Caregiver Career Pathways Program: A Day of Learning and New Opportunities
On August 26, 2026, the Caregiver Career Pathways Program welcomed 29 participants to the Canoga Park Community Center for an afternoon focused on learning, career opportunities, and taking the next steps toward becoming a caregiver.
From 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., participants heard from Rica Te, who shared the fundamentals of caregiving through her Caregiving 101 presentation, and Randy Clarito, who introduced the Cognitive Wellness Method and its importance in caregiving.
The seminar also gave attendees an opportunity to take action. 19 participants processed their Home Care Aide (HCA) applications and completed Live Scan, an important step toward entering the caregiving field.
More than just an afternoon of presentations, the seminar connected community members with useful information and hands-on support to help them move forward in their career goals. The turnout and participation made the event a meaningful and successful step in creating new pathways into caregiving.

On December 15, 2024, PIC Foundation had the distinct honor of attending the Together We Rise 1Heart Caregiver Services Awards Gala, an event that truly exemplifies the spirit of community and giving. As part of a cherished tradition, 1Heart Caregiver Services generously donates the funds raised during their annual gala to a charitable organization. This year, PIC's Urgent Needs Fund was honored as the recipient of their incredible support.
This critical fund provides essential items and supports to individuals and families who are facing urgent, unexpected needs that cannot be covered by regular state funded support systems.
