Another Successful Caregiver Career Pathways Program in Oxnard
June 11, 2026 The 1Heart Foundation proudly hosted another successful Caregiver Career Pathways Program in Oxnard, helping local residents take the first step toward rewarding careers in caregiving. Participants received valuable information about becoming professional caregivers, along with support for the Home Care Aide (HCA) registration process, employment applications, Live Scan guidance, TB testing referrals, and career opportunities with 1Heart Caregiver Services. |
The program reflects the Foundation's commitment to removing barriers to employment while addressing the growing need for compassionate, qualified caregivers in our communities. By providing free training resources and career support, the Foundation continues to empower individuals with the skills and confidence needed to begin meaningful careers serving seniors and families.

1Heart Foundation Launches Caregiver Career Pathways Program with Successful Inaugural Event
The 1Heart Cares Foundation proudly marked a meaningful milestone with the successful launch of its Caregiver Career Pathways Program, holding its first event on May 14, 2026, in Downey, California. Designed to remove financial barriers and create access to employment opportunities in home care, the program is already making a tangible impact in the community. The inaugural event welcomed 16 participants, all of whom were seeking assistance to begin their careers as Home Care Aides (HCAs) in California. Through the Foundation’s support, critical onboarding requirements including TB testing, Live Scan fingerprinting, and HCA registration, were fully covered for each attendee. These costs, often a barrier to entry, were eliminated entirely, allowing participants to focus on taking their first steps into the caregiving profession.

It was a joyful day filled with smiles, heartfelt conversations, special treats, and appreciation for the incredible mothers and mother figures who have touched so many lives. We are grateful for the opportunity to bring happiness, connection, and community to our seniors on this special occasion.

This educational session equipped caregivers, seniors, and facility staff with essential knowledge to reduce fall risks. With interactive demonstrations and practical tips, we promoted independence, safety, and dignity, proving that falls are not an inevitable part of aging.

This brain-boosting session introduced seniors to Neurobics, fun, sensory-based mental exercises designed to strengthen memory and support cognitive health. With laughter and learning, participants explored new ways to keep their minds sharp and engaged.

Our pet therapy event brought comfort and joy to seniors through furry friends. With wagging tails and gentle purrs, animals helped lift spirits, reduce anxiety, and create meaningful emotional connections between residents and caregivers alike.

Our team joined the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s to show solidarity with families and individuals affected by the disease. This heartfelt event brought the community together to raise awareness, honor loved ones and support ongoing research and caregiving initiatives.
